Embarrassing in every sense of the word is the only way to justifiably describe the New England Patriots ugliest loss of the season. The Pats fell to 3-13 with a 40-7 dismantling at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday at a rainy Gillette Stadium. New England’s 33-point defeat was the team’s largest deficit on the scoreboard in 2024 as the Chargers dominated the game in every phase. In a tale all-too-familiar this season, this team looked unprepared, uninspired and fundamentally unsound. Was this finally one time too many?
