Per multiple reports, the New England Patriots are trading backup quarterback Joe Milton, III to the Dallas Cowboys. The Pats are expected to send Milton, as well as a yet-to-be disclosed seventh-round choice to the Cowboys in exchange for Dallas’ conditional fifth-round pick (no. 174) overall. Despite Milton’s status as a temporary fan-favorite, the former Tennessee Volunteer was facing a season as the no. 3 option on the Pats depth chart, behind starter Drake Maye and veteran Josh Dobbs. With Dallas, Milton will become the primary backup to Dak Prescott, while the Pats recoup some trade value in return.
